
Mark Pellington began his career at MTV in 1984, winning multiple awards as a promo producer while branching out as a freelance music video director.
Pellington’s video for Pearl Jam’s “Jeremy” won Best Director at the 1992 Billboard Video Music Awards and four 1993 MTV Video Music Awards. He received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the MVPA and has created 100+ iconic music videos for such notable artists as U2, R.E.M., Bruce Springsteen, Alice In Chains, Demi Lovato, Imagine Dragons, Foo Fighters, Nine Inch Nails, Cage the Elephant, Linkin Park, The Fray, Dave Matthews, Michael Jackson, Public Enemy, INXS, Moby, The Flaming Lips, Nada Surf, Damian Marley, De La Soul, and Chelsea Wolfe.
After Pellington’s first feature film, the 1997 Sundance hit Going All The Way, he directed Arlington Road (1999), starring Jeff Bridges, and the cult horror film The Mothman Prophecies (2000). His recent film work includes the dance film, The Severing (2022), Survive (2020) with Sophie Turner and Corey Hawkins, Nostalgia (2018) with Jon Hamm, Ellen Burstyn and Catherine Keener, and The Last Word (2017) with Shirley MacLaine and Amanda Seyfried.
He has also directed documentaries, TV episodes, and numerous award-winning commercials for brands including Aston Martin, GMC, Honda, Subaru, United Health, Cingular, McDonalds, Gatorade, and Lowe’s.
